How to use “Fresh Tabs“:
Treating your A/C system takes less than 5 minutes per unit. You do not need any special tools or mechanical expertise.
- Locate Your A/C Unit: Marine units are typically hidden beneath stateroom berths, inside hanging lockers, or behind salon sette cushions. Remove the access panel or cushion to expose the unit. Some units you are able to access the drain pan by removing the A/C vent cover.
- Find the Condensate Drain Pan: Look directly underneath the metal evaporator coils (the radiator-like grid). You will see a shallow metal or plastic tray designed to catch dripping water.
- Drop in 2 Fresh Tabs: Place 2 or more Fresh Tab tablets into the tray. For best results, place it in the condensate water as far away from the drain as possible.
- Run the System: Turn your A/C back on. The tablet(s) will immediately begin dissolving in the residual moisture, neutralizing odors and cleaning out slime at the source. Repeat as needed to maintain freshness. I made it a habit to add the tablets weekly. There are a lot of factors involved such as amount of condensate, temperature and humidity. Find your own sweet spot.
